À propos
In 1253, Louis IX founded a school for 16 needy theology students, named Sorbonne by Robert de Sorbon, the king's confessor. Since 1885, the Sorbonne has been France's largest university. The Sorbonne church, built from 1635 to 1642 by Jacques Lemercier on Richelieu's orders, houses his tomb, designed by François Girardon in 1694, and a cupola by Philippe de Champaigne.
