Église Saint-Philippe du Roule

On the site of a former chapel destroyed in 1739, stands the church of Saint-Philippe-du-Roule, the fruit of Louis XV's desire to provide the district with a new place of worship. Nestling on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, close to the Place de la Madeleine and Place Vendôme, its architecture evokes Roman temples, with their ancient columns. The stained glass windows on the second floor, bathed in shades of blue, are the work of Émile Hirsch.
