À propos
The Picpus cemetery in Paris, at the heart of the French Revolution, is an active necropolis. It includes a private enclosure and a small cemetery where the victims of the guillotine in 1794 are laid to rest. Reserved for families, this place steeped in history is maintained by the descendants of the original donors. Among the graves are names from the aristocracy, including that of La Fayette, adorned with an American flag. This symbolic site saw Colonel Stanton pay tribute to La Fayette in 1917.
