The only museum in the Pas-de-Calais dedicated to the history of education, and part of the network run by the Association des Amis du Musée National de l'Education, des Musées de l?Ecole et du Patrimoine Educatif (Rouen).
The museum is located downtown, at 2 rue de l'Ancien Rivage, in a building steeped in history, in this case a former nursery school from the 1950s, itself built on the site of one of the first public schools founded in Boulogne at the end of the 19th century.
A place conceived as an ecomuseum, at once a museum of time and space, a conservatory, a laboratory and a school, as Henri-Georges Rivière likes to define it.
A place to preserve, promote and disseminate local school heritage, with a national perspective.
An interactive place that meets all expectations (personal culture, documentary and scientific research, educational interest, source of artistic inspiration, reactivation of memory, family transmission, loans and donations of objects...) and where all generations come together.
Opening hours outside school vacations: Wednesday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm
School vacations: Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm
July-August: Monday to Saturday, 2pm to 5pm
Annual closures: public holidays and end-of-year vacations.
