Allez, Ollie...À l'eau !
À propos
Let's face it, we all have our fears and phobias. For young Ollie, it's water and swimming. But what if it was a granny who appeared out of nowhere and allowed the little boy to finally take the plunge? And in every sense of the word.

When Grandma Olive arrives at Ollie?s house, his day-to-day life is turned upside down. First, he has to give up his room because of Grandma?s broken hip. Then, to add insult to injury, Grandma Olive goes to the pool every day and asks Ollie to go with her so he can learn to swim! But Grandma Olive isn't just any grandma. She's a real-life Olympic swimming champion from the 1948 London Olympics.

To depict this inter-generational exchange, the Des petits pas dans les grands company offers a performance that straddles the line between show and science workshop. The spectators become real actors in the explanation of buoyancy. What's more, Granny Olive is English, as is actress Pearl Manifold, and Ollie is French and almost bilingual. The young boy has the talent to translate for us.

An enriching and touching show; an ode to exchange, courage and surpassing oneself.
