À propos
From the top of the tower, you can admire a breathtaking view of the Cité de Jean Bart, the harbor, the sandy beaches and the Flemish hinterland.to get there, an elevator takes you up to the fifth floor, where you'll find the impressive 50-bell carillon. The largest bell, known as the "Jean Bart", weighs in at 5 tonnes! The terrace, at a height of 58 metres, is reached via a medieval spiral staircase (watch your head!). Built around 1440, the belfry was the bell tower of the Eglise Saint-Eloi until a terrible fire separated the two buildings in 1558.
