Séléné

In Greek mythology, Selene is the goddess of the moon. And yet, since 1994, she has been installed facing the rising sun, right in the middle of the fountains on Place d'Armes. The work is the work of Norbert Tréca, a Douais artist who has made the female nude his specialty. Many a Douais resident has imitated her posture, or taken a photo of herself beside her, with the belfry in the background.
