À propos
The castle, the cradle of Phalsbourg, is the seat of Count Palatine George John, founder of the city from 1568. The exterior restoration (staircase and tower) dates back to George John. The ground floor (today's cellar), where the mileage of 1568 is engraved, also remains from this period. The armoured stone keystone, removed around 1890, showed the George-Jean coat of arms. The castle then extended as far as the Place d'Armes. Vauban included the building in his plan and circumscribed it in one of the bastions. Today, access to the building is via the first floor. The castle is a stage of the discovery circuit. Free visit of the outside.
