Waves of Light

Waves of Light is a harmonious encounter between jazz and choral singing, born of the complicity between Paul Lay, a pianist steeped in the Afro-American tradition, and Joël Suhubiette, founder in 1997 of the chamber choir Les Éléments. With the Paul Lay Trio (piano, double bass, drums), Les Éléments revisit selected pages by Purcell, Bach or Ligeti, and perform original compositions by Paul Lay inspired by the poetry of Victor Hugo, Emily Dickinson or Pablo Neruda. The result is a shimmer of sonic light, filtered through the prism of an unprecedented musical fusion.
