I almost called this show "The Pleasure". But then I realized that the only pleasures you'd think of when you hear a title like that are those that are forbidden to under-18s. And yet, for financial reasons, I want people under 18 to be able to see my show too. So I call it "Délicieux": it's a family show.
In the space of an hour and a quarter, I'm going to try to unravel the complexity of what causes pleasure in human beings. Of course, pleasure can come from drinking a glass of chasselas on the lakeshore in springtime. But it can also come from the death of someone you don't love. Of course, an unexpected promotion within the company brings joy. But so does eating Gruyère cheese in Gruyères, or knowing - when you're French - that you don't pronounce the "z" in Étivaz (which allows us to delight in correcting all the losers who make the mistake). My aim is for this show to give you a certain pleasure, in a mise en abîme as delicious as eating Gruyère cheese in Gruyères.
