📍 Stenay, Meuse · 3 Place Raymond Poincaré, 55700 Stenay
À propos
PORTAL OF THE OLD CHURCH OF SAINT DAGOBERT: Stenay was a Merovingian royal residence and it is known that one of its last kings, Dagobert II was buried there. His tomb was in the chapel of Saint Remi which later took the name of Saint Dagobert chapel. Unfortunately today, only the portal (of primitive Gothic style (13th century) of this chapel has survived the vicissitudes of time. Raised stone by stone, in a cellar transformed into a crypt under the building located at 3 place Raymond Poincaré in the town centre, it is preserved and enhanced by the association of the Circle Saint Dagobert II.
