Ha%EFti / France %B7 Faraway Festival 2027 %B7 Promotion 27

Each season as part of the faraway festival, you are invited to discover and hear contemporary writing in the form of a reading or a staged reading. Stories from elsewhere, plays with original dramaturgy, and authors attuned to the world’s upheavals.

For this new edition of the festival, Haitian author Jean d’Amérique is in the spotlight with his *Chants de grève*. In this play, a group of students goes on a hunger strike following the police killing of one of their classmates. Barricaded within the confines of their university, they debate and confront their revolutionary ideals with reality. This play paints a portrait of a wounded youth torn between personal struggles and political activism, brought to life by the students of the Comedy Class.
