À propos
Manufacture of Langres and Epoisses cheeses, retail sales.
We offer you different areas:
A SALES AREA - to find the full range of Germain cheeses and many other delicious local products.
A GIFT AREA - where you can compose surprising and gourmet gifts.
a LEARNING TOUR - to learn more about Fromagerie Germain and its appellations.
A speciality of our region, recognized as an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, Langres cheese is made according to age-old traditional recipes. Its orange-yellow rind shelters a light-yellow paste, with a moderate flavor that develops with age. The top of the cheese is hollowed out by a bowl called a "fountain". This feature, which can be likened to the shape of the ramparts surrounding the town of Langres, gives it its characteristic appearance.
Educational discovery trail (milk collection, AOC/AOP, cow breeds, etc.).
Discover the technical side of cheese-making with a tour of the various stages: ripening room, hand-rubbing rooms for Langres and Epoisse cheeses; free access.
Cheese-making video (5 min.).
200m² store featuring Germain and Rianz products (the group to which we belong) and a range of regional products.
Cheese bar offering tasting platters with our PDO products and a drink (with prior reservation at least 24 hours in advance). TEMPORARY FARM.
Tastings on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 12:15pm, last visit at 11:45am - RESERVATION REQUIRED.
