Médiathèque Les Silos

Les Silos houses a media library in the heart of the station district of Chaumont in the Haute-Marne region of France. The name is a reminder that the building was originally an agricultural cooperative, typical of the architecture of the 1930s. Renovation work in 1994 preserved the old grain hoppers that run right through the floors, revealing an impressive glass building, both inside and out. In 2011, the building was awarded the "Patrimoine du XXème siècle" label by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.

Les Silos offers a wide and coherent range of multimedia documents, a toy library and free-access video games on 4 levels. The Médiathèque offers a wide range of coherent services, accessible to the public 30 hours a week. You can also discover a prestigious collection of manuscripts and incunabula, as well as a wide range of old documents.

Les Silos also plays an active role in local cultural life, developing a wide range of regular cultural events, including the Salon du Livre de Chaumont. They are also involved in educational activities alongside institutional partners.
