Agricultural education was first given in 1868 in the Old Town Hall. The new building of the Kaiserliche Landwirtschaftschule (Imperial Agricultural College) was built in 1907 during the German occupation. It was inaugurated at the same time as the psychiatric hospital in 1909. Since then, the institution has expanded considerably.
