Leaving the rue des Bouchers, on the left is a late Renaissance house with an oriel with the inscription: "O Welt, O Welt wie sauer ist din Gelt. Wer wonung sucht in dieser Welt wird balohnt in Ewigkeit" (O world, O world, how pernicious your money is, he who seeks little in this world will be rewarded in the afterlife).
The old crests were hammered on during the Revolution. The date of 1663, the year of its construction by the merchant Jean Sohn and his wife Marie-Madeleine Klopp, can be read on it. At this place, we find ourselves on the edge of the mound bordering the former site of Rouffach.
