À propos
The passage of the Theatre follows the course of part of the Mittelbach, one of the three brooks that surrounded the town, which was filled in 1863. In 1867, the part linking the passage from the Town Hall to the rue du Sauvage was covered with a glass roof by the architect Senaire and became the only covered passage in the 19th century in Alsace. This street with a commercial vocation saw a succession of numerous shops. Threatened with destruction during the 20th century, it was the victim of an arson attack in the 1980s. It was renovated in 2019.
