À propos
This industrial site, whose name could come from the madder fields that covered it, was created in 1806 with the establishment of the dyeing factory Jean Hofer et Cie, thanks to the presence of a river. The oldest buildings date back to the 1840s, as does "La Fabrique", a block factory very representative of this period, which was renovated in 2005. At the beginning of the 20th century, new red brick buildings, sometimes imposing, were built, such as "L'Epicerie". Nearby are the two chimneys that look like sentries.
