Maison Mieg

📍 Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin · 11 Place de la Réunion, 68100 Mulhouse
À propos
A very beautiful bourgeois residence rebuilt around 1560 and a rare example of a house from this period in Mulhouse, it was owned from 1694 to 1840 by the Mieg family, originally from Basel. In 1799, Mathieu, known as "The Chronicler", painted episodes from Swiss history on the façade, marking his opposition to the reunion of Mulhouse with France. The painted woodwork from the 18th century can be seen in the Historical Museum. The pointed arched windows on the ground floor date from the 20th century.
