À propos
Sébastien Haller is a Mulhouse artist who trained at the Mulhouse Le Quai art school. He graduated in 1986. In 1998, he completed his training with a cabinetmaker's diploma.
For him, the role of the artist is to make art that will be seen in the public space. It is necessary to create the look on the work. Sébastien Haller deals globally with the themes of the urban landscape, the identity of man. We find in his sculptures images of everyday life, with individuals and groups.

Sébastien Haller's practice is quite eclectic because he takes a more technical approach to the artistic process of creation. He uses objects that, by assembling them, become alive and form an image. Movement is very present in Sébastien Haller's work.

He also often works with companies and communities. His first monumental sculpture entitled "Tas d'hommes cassés" dates back to 2002

The Passenger is part of this approach, it follows an order for the Sitram. The metal set features a passenger. From the side, the spectator sees only one passenger, but from the front, this passenger is multiplied by moving further apart each time. In the end, there is not just one passenger but more than ten. The work created here is a response to a commission directly related to the location (Soléa building behind) and its activity.
