Ecole Cour de Lorraine

📍 Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin · rue des Franciscains, 68100 Mulhouse
À propos
Former noble court of the 13th century, the property became in 1726 that of the Thierry family, descendants of Huguenot refugees from Lorraine, before a painted canvas factory was set up in 1754. This elegant building, with its symmetrical facade with sculpted decorations, was acquired by the town in 1876 to build a school, in order to relieve the congestion of the existing establishments. Classrooms for boys and girls were installed. The school, which on the eve of the First World War became a girls-only school, was gradually modernized.
