The Foire de la Sainte-Catherine d'Ensisheim is a tradition that dates back to 1466 (its name referring to Catherine of Burgundy, wife of Leopold IV of Habsburg, who granted privileges to the town).
It's an annual market bringing together around a hundred craftsmen, shopkeepers and hawkers who take over the whole of Rue de la 1ère Armée (Ensisheim's main street).
On the same date, the Club des Artistes organizes its annual exhibition of painting, sculpture and marquetry, with free admission to the Palais de la Régence.
