4026 Des jouets éternels ?

On June 25, 2025, 3 time capsules are discovered by a pair of researchers. No trace of corrosion, no signs of wear: the capsules are too intact to be ancient. What is their history? Only one clue: the inscription "4026" engraved on their surface.

The researchers opened the capsules and took out 12 objects, both familiar and strange. These are preserved, documented and analyzed by the researchers. Their research leads them to an unexpected hypothesis: these objects are not from the past, but from the future. What's more, they are toys!

Through a deliberately fictional narrative, visitors will discover 12 major toy families presented in the form of triptychs: a toy from the past? one from the present? and one from the future.
The aim is not to predict the future of toys, but to explore what their evolution reveals about our societies: their relationship with materials, industry, intimacy and emotion.
Questioning certain toys and objects from childhood, such as cuddly toys, playing cards, construction toys and spinning tops, the exhibition offers a selected viewpoint on the potential evolution of these toys that have stood the test of time.
Familiar to all, the parallels between the past, present and future forms of these objects also raise questions about their function and use, opening up new ways of thinking about toys and games.
