À propos
Mentioned for the first time in the 11th century, the village was a hub of trade: its coaching inn, located on an ancient Roman road, became an important strategic link between Belfort and Neuf-Brisach. Under the domination of the Zimmermann dynasty for 5 generations, the relay station was destroyed during the 14-18 war.
In 1927, the present-day Saint-Pierre church was built as a memorial to François Ignace Zimmermann.
Don't miss the calvary between the village and the Pont d'Aspach, sheltered by tall trees, and the gravel pit, a popular place for walks.
