The Place Broglie is the former Place du Marché-aux-Chevaux in Strasbourg. It was here, in 1792, that La Marseillaise was first performed in front of the City Hall, after having been written during the night of April 25 to 26, 1792 by Rouget de L'Isle, then in garrison in Strasbourg.
