Created in 1980 in Obernai, the experimental orchard of Alsace "Verexal" aims at elaborating references for fruit producers within the framework of a strategy of reasoned, integrated, or organic production in a concern of economic profitability and preservation of the landscapes
and natural resources.
The productions concerned by its work: quetsche d'Alsace, plum, mirabelle plum, table apple and juice, table and distilling pear, table and Kirch cherry, apricot, peach.
How does this ensemble work? ... Follow the manager through the 7 hectare orchard which was created in deep loess soils at the edge of the vineyard, to experiment with solutions to the problems of fruit production. Taste the seasonal products.
Visiting conditions: Monday to Friday by appointment, from June to the end of October. The price includes the guided tour and a tasting of local apple juice. Please bring walking shoes.
