Morschwiller

Morschwiller is a traditional Alsatian village located 20 minutes from Strasbourg, between Brumath and Pfaffenhoffen. It has a population of 597 and is nestled in the valleys of the Moder river, covering an area of 462 ha. Historically, the first mention of the village dates back to 771. It was first an imperial, then a royal village in the Haguenau bailiwick, and boasts a number of sites and monuments rich in history.

The privately-built Chapelle Saint Ulrich, built in 1832, stands alongside the Landgraben stream, as does the Church of Saint Etienne, built in 1840 by Louis-Martin Zegowitz. The highest point in Haguenau is located on a hill called "Les Acacias", offering a 360-degree view of Strasbourg cathedral and the Château de Lichtenberg. Take a walk along one of our many footpaths, and you'll discover the many calvaries scattered around our park, all so different yet so steeped in history.

Morschwiller is also home to a large number of cultural and sporting associations, including basketball, badminton, horse-riding, theater, choir and many others, which share the brand-new Espace Culturel et Sportif. The commune also boasts a dozen farms (dairy, cereal, market gardening, etc.), as well as a variety of local shops, craftsmen, restaurants and self-catering cottages.
