The Dompeter is the oldest church in Alsace, and the Saint-Ulrich Chapel is one of the few churches with a tetraconch plan—that is, a four-leaf (quadrilobe) plan. Its octagonal bell tower is Romanesque, and it is known as the “Baptistery.”
The church and the chapel are about 850 meters apart; allow 11 minutes for the group to walk between them. Access and parking for a large bus are not available.
It is also preferable to schedule this visit in the morning or after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays.
