À propos
Property of the département. Close to the Pointe de Cancaval, the Anse du Montmarin is a must-see. Formerly used for shipbuilding, this small bay is a haven of tranquillity, offering a magnificent panorama of the Rance River. The presence of man is very marked here. Wherever accessible, man has settled here, increasing the number of agricultural areas and tidal mills (a driving force since the 18th century), an example of which can still be seen at Montmarin. Here, strolls take place in the shade of the beautiful malouinière built in 1760, which inspired a famous Ille et Vilaine writer: Chateaubriand.
