In their kitchen, an elderly couple grapple with their minor aches and pains, their memories and their long-standing squabbles. But tonight, one chair remains empty. Their white-haired son has come back to live with them. Behind the closed door of his bedroom, his silence becomes a burden.
Should they speak to him? Leave him be? Still love him as if he were a child? With Jean-Claude Grumberg’s tender yet sharp humour, *Dans le couloir* brings to life the comedy and tragedy of everyday life. Amidst laughter and tears, this couple opens the doors to their private world, where the big questions are played out: living together, growing old, loving despite everything.
