Bulle ou la voix de l'océan

Ages 5 and up

This is the story of Bulle, the bubble that went to land… Bulle, a magnificent shell from the South Seas, is bored at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Through a series of events, she falls into the hands of humans, and can finally set off in search of the coral of the land. She arouses much envy, for she possesses a marvellous power: she can fill herself with music, the voice of the ocean and every sound you could ever dream of…
Told by the chorus of a theatrical sea, this musical tale takes Bulle on a journey from the golden age of piracy to the loving hands of a little boy. Alongside her, we witness an auction, battle bloodthirsty pirates, pine away in the drawing room of an 18th-century young lady, and applaud a ballet of oysters who think they’re on Broadway…

Adapted from René Fallet’s text, this high-energy jazz vocal trio and their double bass blend shadow theatre with musical comedy, humour with emotion; *Bulle* is an explosive, lively and delicate show.
