À propos
Could the myths we invent for ourselves be the best antidote to sadness? Steeped in the spirit – and spirits – of Japan, the mime and visual performance *Kimera* takes us on a journey with a little girl who flees reality in order to find herself. A tale of humour and tenderness for the whole family.
Ever since her little brother went missing, young Oni has been wandering through a world that has fallen silent. She meets Baku, an enigmatic and friendly train conductor who invites her on board… At the end of the tunnel, will she find peace? Moving between dream and reality, *Kimera* is an odyssey for two performers set against a backdrop of shifting imagery. From Studio Ghibli films to Hiroshige’s woodblock prints, the Compagnie Discrète has drawn on a rich wellspring of imagination to gather the impressions of this journey. In particular, they have drawn inspiration from the art of Kintsugi, which involves repairing broken objects without hiding their cracks, but rather enhancing them with gold dust. A beautiful metaphor for a performance that views the art of mime as a gentle act of healing.
