Cirque Amar

Under the blood-and-gold big top, Cirque Amar ® presents a new artistic and cultural programme dedicated to ‘Maestria’. Equestrian acts, juggling, balancing acts, trapeze, clowns and auguste characters follow one another with virtuosity, in a performance inspired in particular by the world of the painter and sculptor Alexander Calder, a favourite of ringmaster Stéphan Gistau. A deliberate reference: Calder’s ‘Maestria’ had already won over Raymond Devos, a passionate admirer of the circus arts. The show ‘Maestria’ is part of the great circus tradition whilst opening it up to new dimensions: a popular, universal and timeless art form. As Fernand Léger pointed out, ‘the circus draws on architecture, light and colour, and remains an irreplaceable school for theatre, dance, cinema and mime’.

Tickets available at the circus box office from 6 October.
