As autumn sets in, work in the cellars continues apace and the landscape takes on new colours… Setting off from Mâcon, the capital of Saône-et-Loire and a centre for the wine trade that gave its name to the region – the Mâconnais – set off to explore the Vallée des Caves, its wine-growing villages and their centuries-old heritage. Meet the key figures of the wine-growing region – cooperative and independent wineries – who offer a wide selection of white, red and sparkling wines, perfectly paired with Mâcon specialities to sample.
