La Salle Bleue

At the initiative of the town of Corbigny and in partnership with the Parc-Saint-Léger - Centre d'art contemporain de Pougues-les-Eaux, Krijn de Koning's project, created specifically for Corbigny Abbey, takes into account the particularities of the monastery's former kitchen. As usual in his work, in France and abroad, the artist identifies the specificities of a space and brings into play volumes that accentuate certain architectural details. A mural brings the whole together by taking the shape of a part of the vaults, a bit like a flower unfolding on the walls. The work entitled: Omvang, Omgang, a Dutch play on words that is difficult to translate, links both the architecture and the public's wandering, and in its French version becomes "tour and detour".
