What to do in the Iron Age

During the Iron Age (800 to 50 BC), societies became more structured and powerful elites emerged.
In the Jura, the burial mound in the Moidons forest is a perfect illustration of this hierarchical social organisation. The richly endowed female tombs bear witness to the social role played by women.
The accessories and jewellery unearthed reveal the evolution of fashion over time. Among them, belts adorned with bronze plaques stand out as genuine identity markers, because of the regional specificity of their decoration.
